Work stress and its impact on the performance of faculty members in higher technical education, a field study in colleges and higher technical institutes in the Western Region

The study aims to identify the level of work pressures faced by faculty members in some colleges and higher technical institutes in the western Libyan region and its impact on the performance of faculty members. The study sample consisted of (45) faculty members. Social (SPSS) data processing.The
study reached the most important results, namely that the members of the study sample are exposed to work pressures to high degrees from various sources of work stress, and there is a strong correlation with statistical significance between the level of sources of work stress and the level of faculty
performance. The study concluded with a set of recommendations and suggestions. The most important of these is the need to provide a better educational environment to relieve the work pressures that the faculty are exposed to and to ensure the increase in the efficiency of the faculty’s performance.
