The Grammatical Aspects in Zamakshariy’ Book: The Basis of Eloquence

Abstract

This research aims at highlighting the importance of the book the ‘Basis of Eloquence’ among other lexicon books and identifying the extent of Al-Zamakshariy interest in understanding the different levels of Arabic language, alongside the lexicological study. This study focuses on discussing the grammatical aspect through adopting ‘the descriptive-analytical approach’. This study reveals the status of Zamakshariy and discovers his approach in writing his book. This book includes a number of linguistic issues and characterized by using the old style in narrating the meanings of subjects. It represents the basis of modern lexicons because of its unique method of alphabetical adoption.
