This study investigates the geographical distribution of the population in northwestern Libya (1973- 2006 AD). It lies within the field of political geography. It deals with this distribution and it's geopolitical effects through studying the relative distribution, density and population concentration, in order to reveal the extent of population concentration and spread, and the resulting internal and external geopolitical effects. The results showed that there is a concentration of population in areas smaller than a third of the population concentrated in The Sha-bya of Tripoli according to the latest population census in the country. This means the low spatial development in other regions, which led to depriving many regions in the study area, in particular, and in all Libya, in general, from the optimal investment of its economic resource. This may threaten these regions security and affect its political weight.
