Abstract

This study discusses the stages of scientific thought of Gaston Bachelard. In his book (The Formation of the Scientific Mind), he mentioned three stages of the history of thought. These stages include the 'pre-scientific stage',- the stage of the ancient classical times- and the Renaissance. And the stage of the concrete state as it was called by Bachelard and which resulted from the efforts derived from the sixth and seventeenth centuries until the eighteenth century. It is based on the philosophy of simplicity, which is considered the stage of the new scientific mind that begins in 1905 AD, that is, with the special theory of relativity that changed initial concepts whose stability was not doubted.
