The Relationship between Ancient Inscriptions and Symbols with Writing

Abstract

This study aims to identify the relationship between writing and ancient engravings and symbols. It attempts to explain the effect of these engravings on the development of writing systems and human life. The historical approach was used for examining، analyzing and interpreting these symbols and for tracing their development through ancient civilizations until the emergence of writing and its relationship with ancient and modern times. The theoretical part of this study discussed writing، writing types and development. The findings of this study offer some recommendations for understanding the role of engravings in reviving the human folklore and in the improvement of modern writing.
