This study aims to identify the principles of the grammar lesson and its resources according to Ibn Ashour’s book titled as Altahreer and Altanweer through explaining his influence by the well-known linguist Jar Allah Al-Zamakhashari. This paper highlights the citations taken by Ibn Ashour from the publications of this scholar and the method he used in dealing with these citations including acceptance, analysis and rejection. The inductive approach has been adopted by tracing all the citations taken from Al-Zamakhashari and analyzing them according to Ibn Ashour’s view. This analysis revealed that Ibn Ashour liked Al-Zamakhashari’s writings and therefore he cited a lot from him. However, Ibn Ashour criticized and rejected some of the Al-Zamakhashari’s views. This indicates that Ibn Ashour is an independent author who believes in the value of citing what is good and logic from others but rejecting what is not.
