Abstract

The study aims to identify the way of Libyan postgraduate students in the Libyan Academy in Tripoli treatment of scientific information. This investigation covered the aspects of scientific information in terms of its characteristics and importance for students in relation to the diverse intellectual production. A random sampling method was used for selecting the participants of this study. A questionnaire was designed for data collection and 100 versions were distributed. 33 returned questionnaires were excluded because of incomplete answers. The case study method was adopted in order to describe the studied phenomenon in terms of its nature and degree of existence and to identify the problems and difficulties experienced by the participants in dealing with scientific information. In addition, some useful suggestions for developing this skill among postgraduate students are offered.
