his research deals with phonetic description and analysis of the six sounds that Sibawayh described as desirable in reciting the Holy Qur’an and singing poetry. They are secondary phonetic variations (allophones) branching off from the basic sounds (phonemes) in the Arabic language (the letters of the dictionary). These sounds are: the hidden nūn, the hamza of bayn (al-māshalā), the severe inclination, the shen which is like the jīm, the sād which is like the zaī, and the alif of the tafkīm. The researcher studies each of these sounds in a special study, in which he explains the source of the basic sound, its characteristics, and how to pronounce it. Then he presents with explanation and analysis the process of the occurrence of the phonetic variation that branches out from it, using linguistic examples and illustrative forms, highlighting the phonetic reasons that led to its occurrence, and its reaching the stage of phonetic harmony that It gave it a degree of approval among the speaker and the listener until it became widely used in his environment.
