The recent war in Ukraine represented a new starting point in the power struggle and polarization between major players in international politics... It also represented a new episode of blatant violation of the rules of international law regulating peace relations, good neighborliness, and the non-use of force in international conflicts...
This war came as a translation of pure political tension... as Russia considered that Ukraine's consideration of joining NATO would mean that the adversary, NATO, would acquire contiguous territory on its territorial borders.This war mobilized international public opinion due to its violent nature, and the political and military build-up that accompanied it...which deepened the decline of the current global state of peace and stability, and weakened the deterrence of international law in its various branches and rules. Although it is easy to describe the grave attacks committed in this war as fulfilling the elements described as: war crimes, it is not easy to say that justice will be done to their victims, or that their perpetrators will be subject to the penalties stipulated in legitimate international agreements, and - even - that they will appear before a court. International Criminal Courts or any competent national courts...
