The Economic Role of the Olive Zakat in Supporting Individuals

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to highlight the importance of the olive tree in our social life; either as medicine or food. It aims also to emphasize the role of this tree and to consider it as one of the Islamic ideal implications in the society. The Hanafi and Maliki doctrines are regarded as one of the core Islamic doctrines that all Muslims refer to in all their daily Islamic issues. The Maliki doctrine considers the human ultimate requirements as one of the fundamental principles in Islam. Furthermore, one of the core objectives of the Islamic Shariah is to present the most dignified Islamic implications. That can be achieved through implementing the collection of the Zakat of olives in order to help poor Muslims. This shows the important economic role in enhancing the cooperation in the society, in general, and with poor people in particular, to achieve the highest dignified social status in the Muslim community. Therefore, this study is entitled as the “the economic role of  olive Zakat in supporting individuals”.
