The Linguistic Phenomena in the Introduction of Al-Ain Dictionary

Abstract

This research aims to discover the features of the scientific personality of Alkhaleel and the unique approach he followed in writing this dictionary. The researcher used the analytic, descriptive approachin order to highlight the importance of the introduction of the dictionary which includes many linguistic issues. It is concluded that Alkhaleel Bin Ahmed is author of this dictionary. Alkhaleel described the sounds known by its difficulty due to its vowel nature, assimilation or elision extended articulation. He emphasized the importance of the fricative sound /f/, /r/, /m/,/n/,/l/,/b/ and frictionless sounds /g/,/a/,/s/,/d/ in using the lexis in structuring the Arabic speech.
